In Pictures: Lamine Yamal mocks refereeing decisions on his Instagram amidst injury concerns

Lamine Yamal was on the receiving end of some very rough challenges in the match on Saturday as Barcelona secured a 2-0 victory against Las Palmas, further solidifying their position at the top of the La Liga standings. 

The talented teenager encountered some very rough tackles from the opposing team but showed resilience throughout the game. Following the match, Yamal shared a brief video on Instagram showing the effects of the match. He showed a bloodied sock after removing his left boot.

Despite feeling some discomfort during the match, Barcelona's wonderkid managed to contribute significantly by providing an assist for Dani Olmo's opening goal. Yamal has now recorded 11 assists in just 22 La Liga appearances this season for Hansi Flick’s team, placing him at the top of the assist leaderboard in La Liga, ahead of Raphinha.

Right from the start of the fixture, Lamine Yamal was closely marked by defenders from Las Palmas. However, the most contentious moment occurred in the 59th minute when Essugo and Álex Muñoz brought him down, with the latter stepping on his foot. Despite the clear foul, referee Cordero Vega opted to let play continue without blowing the whistle.

After the match, the Barcelona forward shared a photo of his bloodied foot on social media, accompanied by the tongue-in-cheek caption 'Not a foul,' along with laughing and shocked emojis.

With this result, Barcelona maintains its position at the top of La Liga, boasting a one-point lead over Atlético de Madrid and a three-point advantage over Real Madrid, who still have a game in hand against Girona.
