'I'm not afraid..' Erling Haaland makes a bold statement ahead of the court's verdict on Manchester City

Manchester City's star striker, Erling Haaland, asserted that he does not have concerns regarding the possibility of Manchester City facing penalties in the ongoing legal case related to the club's alleged financial rule violations. 

Manchester City is currently awaiting the outcome of the trial concerning 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League's financial regulations.

The club has allegedly failed to provide correct information concerning their players, managers, contracts and other financial information for a tenure of nine years between 2009 and 2018.

Erling Haaland is not afraid of the charges 

Among the 115 charges, Manchester City faces 54 allegations related to their failure to provide accurate and up-to-date financial information to the league from the 2009-10 season to the 2017-18 season. In recent years, the club has also been accused of inflating the value of sponsorships linked to their ownership group.

They are also accused of not cooperating with the Premier League's investigation team. However, the club has always taken a stance of denial to all the accusations.

If the accusations are proven in court, Manchester City stands the risk of being relegated from England's top division along with a series of hefty fines and point deductions. 

Premier striker Erling Haaland renewed his contract with the club earlier this year. He proved his commitment towards Manchester City by signing a nine-and-half-year contract with the club, during which he is expected to earn around £1 million each week. Addressing Manchester City's legal issues, Halland asserted that he is not afraid of the club's probability of getting punished.

"I'm obviously not afraid of that if I sign a 9.5-year contract." Haaland told Football Norge.

His statement is understandable considering his demand across top European clubs, which he has earned over the years with his hard work and dedication. The prolific goal-poacher has already racked up 29 goals this season.

Since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, Erling Haaland has scored an incredible 84 goals in just 94 appearances across club competitions. He also became Norway's highest goal scorer while playing just 39 games so far in his career.
