The Herons are focused on achieving their goal of winning the MLS Cup this season. To secure the trophy, Lionel Messi and the team will need to navigate the playoff rounds successfully.

Before the postseason, they were considered strong contenders for the title, and their first challenge was to overcome Atlanta United.

However, this task is proving to be quite challenging, as they find themselves in a pivotal Game 3 in the first round.

The first match saw Inter Miami come out on top with a 2-1 victory. However, Atlanta United responded strongly in the second game, also winning 2-1 at home, which set the stage for a thrilling third match. The deciding game will take place at Inter Miami's Chase Stadium on November 9.

Bras Guzan vows to end Messi's MLS Cup dreams

In goal for Atlanta United is the experienced Brad Guzan. At 40 years old, he is focused on the challenge of keeping Lionel Messi and his teammates from capturing the MLS Cup.

He played an important role in the squad that reached the League Cup final in 2010, where Manchester United triumphed 2-1, thanks to goals from Michael Owen and a decisive winner by Wayne Rooney.

In 2012, he contributed to the Aston Villa team that advanced to the FA Cup final, demonstrating resilience despite a challenging match against Arsenal that ended in a 4-0 defeat.

He had made 154 appearances in England's top division before joining Atalanta United in 2017.

Having previously celebrated an MLS Cup victory in 2018, Guzan is now focused on the challenge of facing Messi in this upcoming match.

The storyline becomes even more intriguing with Inter Miami being led by Gerardo Martino, who was at the helm when Atlanta United secured their championship six years ago. This connection adds an exciting dimension to their rivalry.

"Wayne Rooney then Arsenal ruined my Cup dream – now I’m trying to do the same to Lionel Messi in MLS Playoff." he said.

"It's no longer just a bunch of individuals, or three individuals, if you will. It's now a team and a unit that can hurt you in many different ways. That for us is the challenge of trying to not just stop one or two guys, but trying to stop Inter Miami as a whole." he added.
