Crvena Zvezda hoped to return to winning ways after losing their previous UEFA Champions League outings this season in their backyard as they hosted Spanish Club giants Barcelona. Atletico Madrid, sitting firmly in third place in La Liga, has proven their competitiveness this season. Meanwhile, PSG stands at the top of the Ligue 1 table and has delivered an impressive performance on the domestic stage.
Athletico Madrid stunned PSG with a 2-1 victory with a late stealer from Correa three minutes into stoppage time. However both teams sit beyond top 20 rankings in the standings at 23rd and 25th spot.
Benfica vs Bayern Munich
Benfica squared off against Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday in a pivotal match.
Currently sitting in 13th place in the UEFA Champions League standings, Benfica has shown resilience and potential throughout the season.
On the other hand, Bayern Munich found themselves reeling in 23rd place in the Champions League table, facing challenges in their European campaign. Their recent performance included a tough 4-1 defeat against Barcelona.
Bayern Munich edged out Benfica 1-0 as Jamal Musiala found the net in the 67th minute.
