Chelsea FC has a big boost in their hopes to qualify for the UEFA Europa League as Crystal Palace has given a big blow to Manchester United as they defeated them by 4-0. On Monday night at Selhurst Park Crystal Palace trashed Erik Ten Hag men’s as they are on a five-game unbeaten streak.

Taking about the game Michale Olsie opened the deadlock by scoring in 12 minutes of the game. Later Jean Philippe Mateta added another goal as Crystal Palace, leading by 2-0 by half-time. However, by the end of the game, Manchester United got many chances but failed to convert it. With just three games left in the English Premier League for Manchester United, they are placed in eight positions with 54 points. Chelsea is just above them with 54 points.

Meanwhile qualifying for UEFA Champions League Germany and Italy have an extra spot as five teams from both leagues can play in UCL. In Premier League only four teams can now get into UEFA Champions League. Aston Villa is on the line to qualify for the last spot as they are now placed in fourth position and will face Liverpool and Crystal Palace in their last two league games.

Look at the scenario for European qualification

Tottenham Hotspur will go into UEFA Europa League as they are in fifth position. Chelsea are six points behind Tottenham Hotspur for the European Spot. Newcastle United are in the middle between Chelsea and the European spot. Chelsea has got a little chance to bring back European football at Stamford Bridge. They needed Manchester City to win the FA Cup final against their arch-rival Manchester United. If Manchester United wins the FA Cup they will book their spot in Europa League.

If Manchester City wins the FA Cup final the UEFA Europa League spot will be given to the fifth and sixth teams in the Premier League and the seventh position will be taken by UEFA Conference League. So now, Chelsea and Manchester United are in the fight to secure European competition.
