'Absolutely demolished United today' - Fans react as Manchester United get thrashed 4-0 by Crystal Palace

At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace hosted Manchester United on Monday night in a crucial encounter in the English Premier League. The visitors were without the ever-present Bruno Fernandes, who missed out with a muscle injury. This prompted Erik Ten Hag to start their marquee signing, Mason Mount for only the 8th time this season. 

As anticipated, Crystal Palace started off on the bright foot and were looking to continue their counter-attacking tactic against another top Premier League side. They were rewarded for their efforts after 12 minutes as Michael Olise smashed an effort past Andre Onana. The make-shift centre-back partnership of Casemiro and Jonny Evans were split in half as Olise found space outside the opposition box.

The absence of Fernandes was being felt by the visitors as they were not able to muster any good chances in the opposition half. Another amazing attack from the hosts saw them take a 2-0 lead and the stadium was buzzing. Jean Mateta smashed the ball into the near post leaving Onana with no chance of saving it. 

Crystal Palace humiliate Manchester United during second half at Selhurst Park

After the start of the second half, everyone would have hoped for a comeback from the Red Devils, but the visitors were not clinical enough today. The hosts were confident with the ball and were attacking with every chance they got.

They got rewarded for their amazing football as they cut through the United defence from a brilliant ball from Wharton and Anderson crossed into the 6-yard box for Tyrick Mitchell to increase the lead. Later on, Casemiro got bodied inside his own box as Michael Olise notched his second of the night. 

It was a proper demolition job from the hosts today as the Red Devils lost 4-0 without their attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes. This was an amazing win for Palace and its fans but for United and Ten Hag, they have quite a fair few questions to answer.
