Manchester United are on the verge of making an official announcement regarding their new recruits - Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. In a bid to strengthen their defence for the upcoming season, Man Utd have agreed to a deal with Bayern Munich to acquire the services of the star duo.
Key figures at Bavaria have reportedly passed their medicals and are close to signing a five-year deal with the Premier League giants. Earlier on Monday (August 12), a video of de Ligt and Mazraoui arriving at Munich airport to fly to Manchester to complete the deal had been circulated on social media.
Meanwhile, Bayern have come up with a special post for de Ligt on the occasion of his birthday. The Dutch professional will turn 25 on Tuesday (August 13). “Alles Gute zum 25. Geburtstag, Matthijs!,” the Bundesliga club posted on X.

Meanwhile, fans have flooded the comment section with hilarious notes as they mock Bayern for posting even after knowing de Ligt will not be a part of the team in the next season.

De Ligt's deal is understood to be worth €50m (£42.9m), with an initial €45m (£38.6m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons. The Dutch professional spent two seasons at Bayern Munich since signing from Juventus. He represented the German club on 73 occasions and scored five goals.
If the deal is completed by midday on Thursday, both de Ligit and Mazraoui will be available for the Red Devils’ opening Premier League match against Fulham on Friday.
