The Minister of Sport in Saudi Arabia has expressed a keen interest in welcoming Mohamed Salah to the Middle East this summer. As Salah approaches the final months of his contract with Liverpool, his future with the club is uncertain.

Currently, he, along with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, has a contract set to expire at the end of the season, which opens up the possibility for him to explore new opportunities beyond Anfield.

Salah may head to Saudi Arabia

He is now in a position to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club if he chooses, while Liverpool is actively pursuing an extension for his tenure on Merseyside. However, speculation about a potential move to Saudi Arabia is intensifying.

The Saudi Pro League’s interest in Salah has been persistent over the past couple of years, highlighted by Liverpool's rejection of a $187 million bid from Al-Ittihad in 2023. As his contract expires, the overtures from the Middle East are becoming more aggressive, reflecting the increasing efforts to secure his transfer.

Al-Hilal has emerged as a strong contender for Salah’s signature if he chooses to depart from Liverpool. The Pro League leaders recently made room for potential high-profile acquisitions by parting ways with Neymar this month.

Saudi Prince openly invites Salah

In an upcoming interview on Piers Morgan Uncensored, set to be released later today, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal expressed optimism about the possibility of Salah transitioning to Saudi Arabia. However, he emphasized that negotiations still need to be finalized for any deal to materialize.

“It’d be a privilege to see Mo Salah here. He's the most high profile Muslim player in the world. He's one of the best 2/3 players in the world. He hasn't signed a new contract yet. Up to the clubs now." Prince said.

“He's, you know, he's Egyptian, and we have a very good relationship, and we feel like we are one with the Egyptians as well, from our culture and our history and so on. So to have Mo Salah or other players that are good role models would be, you know, a pleasure and a privilege to have in the Saudi League." he added.
