Paul Scholes took to Instagram and posted a story about Kobbie Mainoo. The young player from Manchester United helped his team to beat arch-rivals Manchester City in the final of the FA Cup 2024. It helped the men in red to avenge their defeat a month ago in Etihad. They also lost to the City in the FA Cup final in 2023. Mainoo played a key role in the win of United.

The young duo of Kobbie and Alejandro Garnacho stole the win for the United over the City who have been on a roll in the last few years. A goal each from the duo helped the men in red to beat the men in blue. There have been comparisons between Mainoo and Scholes for quite some time now. The former United player ended the debate with his praises for the youngster.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote a story with a huge compliment for the 19-year-old. The former United player acknowledged the fact that comparisons have been happening between him and Mainoo for the past few weeks. He added that the ones who compare the two need not waste their time and added that Kobbie is ten times the player he was at the age of 19.

“Read a few comparisons between me and this kid last week. Don’t waste your time, he is 10 times the player I was at 19," wrote Scholes on his Instagram story. Paul further spoke about the gameplay of the young player and added that he loved the way Mainoo receives the ball. Scholes added that the youngster has awareness, and calmness, and can score goals in big games.

Paul concluded by saying that the 19-year-old is special and felt happy that he is in United. "Just love the way he receives the ball, the calmness, the awareness of what’s around him, and of course big goals in big games. This boy is special. And he’s a f***ing red," added Scholes. United beat City by 2-1 and were crowned the champions.
