Destiny is one of the longest-running and a beloved live service franchise. The game has seen its ups and downs, and it’s now time for possibly the final big expansion. The developers recently showcased the gameplay for the upcoming expansion ‘The Final Shape’ and it is looking pretty good.

The expansion was set to launch earlier this year, however, the reception for the previous one, ‘Lightfall’ wasn’t great. Despite the hype, the content was lacklustre which made players lose confidence in devs, prompting them to make more changes.

A New Subclass

Players have long been wondering if they can mix and match different subclasses. Well, they can now as the new ‘Prismatic’ subclass allows them to mix the three light and two dark subclasses to create something new and players are very impressed.

The video itself starts with the Hunter class showcasing all the different combinations, which most likely blew everyone’s mind and quite honestly looked kind of broken if players got a grip on it. Considering Bungie has been chasing balance and making players work for the loot, this comes as a welcome change.

The expansion feels like a way of Bungie saying ‘Go nuts’, after all, players will be fighting against the main antagonist and their forces. Using light and dark powers and weapons also charges another power called ‘Transcendence’ which gives another set of abilities which sounds and looks way cooler.

New location, enemies and more

There are a lot of other new things, including location, and enemies who are also much more deadly, it seems. Like the player will be able to mix subclass, enemies are a different variant of their previous selves that can also use various annoying abilities.

Another big addition to the game is the Exotic Class Items. Exotic weapons and armour are quite common and a staple in most bulbs, however, there has never been an Exotic Class Item before. What these do are also quite interesting.

Players usually cannot have two exotic pieces of armour together. These Exotic Class Items will allow players to combine two perks from different armours, which adds to more broken builds.

The Final Shape is set to release on June 4 and the new marketing seems to have grabbed the attention of a lot of players. Until the expansion is out, players can play the free DLC, ‘Into The Light’ which will lead to the upcoming expansion.
