According to reports, Real Madrid is considering Florian Wirtz as a candidate for strengthening their midfield next summer. The club reportedly has Florian Wirtz in mind as a possible successor to the German maestro Toni Kroos.
It appears that Real Madrid is eager to sign a player who plays like Kroos creatively facilitating plays rather than being physically overpowering. Since a playmaker like Kroos is necessary for the team's balance, the club's main goal seems to be strengthening the midfield. Wirtz is a more costly acquisition since it might cost more than 100 million euros.
Before the next season, Florian Wirtz was considered one of Los Blancos' top targets and has been on the team's radar for a while. But as of now he has a contract with Bayer Leverkusen and will sign a contract extension for another season. Real Madrid still has a genuine interest in the Bundesliga sensation, and they have now been given the go-ahead to proceed with the deal by one of their all-time greats, Toni Kroos.
In a recent interview with BILD, Kroos said Florian Wirtz had the skills necessary to be a great addition to Real Madrid. “He can adapt to any team, including Real Madrid. With his quality, I think it’d be a great addition.”
