Argentina and Manchester United defender had his Instagram account hacked. The people behind the mischief posted a picture of Lionel Messi with a masked face holding the Ballon d’Or. The Argentine then posted a message which read “Sorry my account was stolen.”

Lisandro Martinez played a key role in Argentina by winning the COPA America a few weeks ago. The defending FIFA World Cup winners beat Colombia with a 1-0 margin in the final thanks to a goal by Lautaro Martinez in the 112th minute. 

After his holiday posts the COPA America player, Lisandro Martinez is set to report for duty with Manchester United. The 26-year-old had missed most of the season due to injury and this saw the team struggle defensively. 

Lisandro Martinez set for new role with Manchester United?

According to a report carried out by Give Me Sport, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag may use Lisandro Martinez in two new roles. The Dutch manager may look to deploy Martinez as a left-back due to the form and fitness issues of both Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw. 

In case Casemiro is sold in the next few weeks the Argentine star could also play as a defensive mid-fielder. Erik Ten Hag and Lisandro Martinez had a fruitful time with each other at Ajax before he was brought to Manchester United in 2022. 

Luis Suarez has been leading the Inter Miami FC challenge in the absence of Lionel Messi. The Argentina star was injured in the COPA America final against Colombia and left the field in tears. 

Speaking to the media, the Uruguayan star said “Inter have already won this, they have the experience. This is a matter of fighting until the end. Some like this and some may not. But we need to get used to this. We must work.”

Tata Martino who happens to be the coach of the Miami side said, “We have the obligation of fighting for both the MLS and the League Cup. But that’s not because we won the Leagues Cup last season.  But because these tournaments are not played at the same time. There’s no need for us to choose between one or the other.”
