Barcelona faced a tough defeat against Atletico on Saturday. They lost 2-1. Despite a promising start with a goal from Pedri, the team saw their lead slip away, culminating in a dramatic last-minute goal from Alexander Sortloth that secured victory for Atletico. Barcelona, have now managed to win only one of their last five La Liga games.
In light of the recent performance, Robert Lewandowski has addressed the team's current morale, expressing that he and his teammates are eager to channel their frustration into a renewed drive for success.
"I think the locker room is p*ssed off. We played a good match. It looked great in the first half, and in the second as well. Atletico created situations after our mistakes. In the last minute it was a draw, and we played as if we were losing in the final and had to score a goal at all costs," Lewandowski said.
Gavi showed his leadership abilities during the first half of Barcelona's match against Atletico Madrid, as per some sources. The 20-year-old midfielder rose to the occasion during a critical moment involving his teammates Robert Lewandowski and Pedri.
Gavi intervened when Lewandowski's positioning allowed Atletico's Clement Lenglet to move forward with the ball. He encouraged Lewandowski to press higher, helping to maintain Barcelona's defensive organization.
After the first half, Gavi approached Lewandowski to talk about their performance. The striker provided insight into his movements, which were shaped by Atlético's tactics. Gavi, recognizing the importance of teamwork, encouraged Lewandowski to apply more pressure in their approach.
As they made their way towards the tunnel, Gavi and Pedri continued their dialogue about the disappointing outing against Atletico.
