Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has recently faced some public scrutiny on social media, thanks to comments made by his girlfriend, Jelicia Westhoff, about a recent incident involving him.

Okoye established himself as an important player for the Super Eagles, making a significant impact during Gernot Rohr's tenure as coach. He made his debut in a memorable match against Brazil in 2019, stepping in as a substitute for the injured Francis Uzoho.

He held on to the starting position and represented his team as a goalkeeper in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. However, after an unfortunate goal conceded in the round of 16 match against Tunisia, he temporarily lost his spot. Following a break from the national team, he made a welcome return after the 2023 AFCON, where Nigeria reached the final against all odds, showcasing Stanley Nwabali’s skills in front of the goal.

Okoye's girlfriend accuses him of abusing her

Okoye and Westhoff have been in a relationship for an undisclosed duration, deliberately keeping their personal life private and choosing not to follow each other on social media.

The 30-year-old Dutch model bravely called out the Udinese goalkeeper on Instagram, alleging that he abused her during their relationship.

In a series of posts, she shared the disturbing evidence of the physical abuse she suffered while they lived together. The photos reveal her with numerous cut marks and bruises across various parts of her body, highlighting the severity of her experience.

In an earlier post this year, the model asserted that she had moved out of the relationship as Okoye disrespected her and her family.
