Manchester United’s Argentine winger, Alejandro Garnacho, is reportedly close to joining their Premier League rivals, Chelsea. According to Fabrizio Romano, Garnacho has already agreed on personal terms with the Blues. Every detail of the deal has been sealed. Talks are now ongoing between the two clubs.
Initially, Manchester United valued the young winger at around £70 million. But now, according to BBC Sport, they are looking for a fee closer to £50 million.

Since January, Chelsea have been linked with Garnacho. Romano also confirmed that the winger only wants to join Chelsea. Despite interest from clubs in Italy, Spain, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, Garnacho has always made Chelsea his top priority.
During United’s recent pre-season tour in the US, Amorim left Garnacho out of the travelling squad
After United’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final last season, Garnacho publicly criticised new manager Ruben Amorim’s tactics. Since then, their relationship has soured. During United’s recent pre-season tour in the US, Amorim left Garnacho out of the travelling squad. The Argentine has also been training away from the first team.
Recently, Amorim spoke to the media about the situation. He said the winger needs a new challenge and hinted that their connection never clicked.

"Garnacho is a really talented boy, but sometimes things don't work out. You cannot explain specifically what it is. But I have the feeling that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership. And I can understand that. It's not a problem. Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have the connection. Other times, you want a new challenge. We try to make everything okay to all the parts, to the club, to the coach and to the players. It's a natural thing in football,” Amorim said.
The 21-year-old Argentine played 58 matches across all competitions in the 2024/25 season. He finished with 11 goals and 10 assists.
