Gareth Bale confirmed his interest in buying the Cardiff City during the premiere of F1 The Movie. Bale is leading a consortium with the aim of purchasing Cardiff City. The former Real Madrid star remembered his old days where he and his uncle, Chris Pike, played for it. He felt it would be a dream come true moment for him to be involved with the ownership group.

Bale addressed the fact that he grew up in Cardiff and thr city's Football club was close to his heart. The star player, who announced his retirement earlier this year, wished to take the club to the Premier League, something which he believed a place where it belonged.

"We are interested in getting Cardiff. It's my home club, it's where I grew up and my uncle [Chris Pike] used to play for them. To be involved with an ownership group would be a dream come true. It's a club close to my heart. It's where I grew up and I would love to be able to be a part of growing Cardiff and taking it to the Premier League where it belongs," said Bale in an interview.

The veteran regarded the Cardiff and Welsh fans to be amazing and hoped to do something special together. Bale was hopeful of getting something for the Welsh fans and claimed to give update on the same in the near future.

"I know how amazing the Welsh fans and Cardiff fans are. It would be amazing to try and do something together. We are trying to engage with Cardiff and more news will come out on that in the future but hopefully we can get something done," Bale added.
