Galatasaray wants to sign Kalvin Phillips in order to put an end to his terrible time at Manchester City. The midfielder chose to leave his childhood club, Leeds, to join the champions at the Etihad a couple seasons ago, but he hasn't played much for the team since. Rodri is positioned at the heart of the team's midfield and Phillips has struggled to unseat him; last season, he went on a loan to find his best form again.

His career did not improve much once he moved to West Ham, as his short-term relocation did not turn out as expected. Although Phillips is open to moving abroad, he is eager to leave Manchester and has the interest of numerous English Premier League clubs.

“I feel so sorry for my decision for him” : Pep Guardiola on Kalvin Phillips

The former England regular has not been able to secure a place in Pep Guardiola's City lineup. Last term, the Catalan even criticized Phillips' weight before apologizing and said he didn't see how the former Leeds player played. The situation of the midfielder has been dicey and a former interview of the manager says a lot about the circumstances.

Pep Guardiola said, “I don't know what's going to happen. I feel so sorry for my decision for him. I've said that many times. He doesn't deserve what has happened to him and I'm so sorry. The only thing I can say about him is I am asking for good personalities and characters and he is a perfect example. And after that I have to give him something and I didn't do that.

The former Bayern Munich manager said, “It's just because I visualise some things and visualise the team and things - and I struggle to see him. I'm not very pleased [with myself] and I am so sorry for him. I will not say that [to him] because it is a business and I have to be a professional.
