After Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury, former Real Madrid custodian Keylor Navas is amenable to a move to Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo. The situation surrounding FC Barcelona's custodian has come under scrutiny after Ter Stegen suffered a knee injury that may finish his season during last night's 5-1 victory over Villarreal.

At the moment, Inaki Pena is the only goalkeeper for the Blaugrana's main team; the other goalkeepers are members of their B team. Currently, FC Barcelona can only recruit free players if they wish to strengthen the position right away, which makes Navas a desirable alternative.

Navas's PSG contract expired, leaving him a free agent at this time. The 37-year-old former staple of Real Madrid is keen to perform at the best level going forward and would be open to joining the Catalan powerhouse. Despite his prior loyalty to FC Barcelona's rivals, Navas is reportedly open to hearing from the club and would be delighted to join the Blaugranas.

Throughout the summer, the three-time UEFA  Champions League winner has been training every day in Costa Rica to stay in peak physical condition while he waits for his future to be decided. The simple fact that Navas will be represented by superstar agency Jorge Mendes, who also has great ties to Barcelona and has assisted the team with other transactions in the past, is one of the main elements that could expedite the transfer.

Can Keylor Navas join FC Barcelona immediately?

The Costa Rican goalie has also kept up a strict training schedule back home to make sure he's ready for any chance that presents itself. Clubs had previously encountered difficulties due to Navas' wage demands because Gremio made it clear in public that they could not pay him.

But according to the source, his main goal is to get consistent playing time, which may allow him more wiggle room when it comes to wage discussions. The Costa Rican star completed his time at PSG with some outstanding displays, having overcome back issues that had plagued him the previous season.
