Three teams are interested in Anthony Martial now that he has finally left Manchester United. During his nine years at Old Trafford, Martial was largely let down. With just 13 Premier League games last season, the France International completely disappeared from Erik ten Hag's plans.

Early in the season, United made the decision to not extend Martial's contract after it ran out. With the summer transfer window approaching, the former French striker is currently a free agent. And it seems like he will have no shortage of admirers in the coming months. After a dismal final few seasons with the Red Devils, the 28-year-old is eager to start his career over.

Sky Sports reports that a trip back to his native country seems to be the most likely result. According to reports, Lyon and Marseille, two Ligue 1 rivals, are considering signing Martial this summer. Martial would rejoin the Lyon team, where he began his career at the young age of 14, after joining their academy.

Besiktas is the other front-runner, and the Turkish Super Lig team is rumored to be considering a move. However, with Besiktas signing Ciro Immobile, the move might not go through. Although teams in the Saudi Pro League, the MLS, and Mexico are all keeping an eye on Martial, those three are the only ones who have been officially identified thus far. It is said that the belief that Martial would rather remain in Europe has dashed their dreams.

How did Anthony Martial announce his Manchester United exit?

A couple of months back, Anthony Martial confirmed that he would be leaving Manchester United on a permanent basis at the end of his contract this year. While speaking to the club media he said, "After nine incredible years at the club, the time has come for me to turn a new page in my career. Since I arrived in 2015, I have had the immense honour of wearing this shirt and playing in front of you, the best supporters in the world."

The former Lyon striker added that, "You have been an unwavering support, through the good times and the difficult. Your passion and loyalty have been a constant source of motivation for me. I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you've done for me.”
