Arsenal are currently competing in the title race of the English Premier League. The Gunners have the chance to become the champions of England after 20 years as Mikel Arteta's side needs to win all the remaining games and hope Manchester City drops points against Tottenham Hotspurs. However former Gunners forward Nicolas Pepe who joined the club back in 2019 or a then club-record fee of £72million from Lille spent four years at Emirates, scoring 27 goals in 112 appearances.

His contract was terminated last summer, and he went on a loan spell at Nice during the 2022/23 season, he moved to the Turkish club Trabzonspor on a free transfer in September. His contract ends in June with the Turkish club and he will leave the club as a free agent with no club having contacted him or having shown interest in signing him.

The 28-year-old footballer started well in Turkey as he scored twice and provided one assist in his first three starts, but was unfortunate as he suffered a hamstring injury and his participation in the African Cup of Nations kept him away from starting a game for the Turkish club for four months. After returning from injury in March he he scored and provided an assist against Karagumruk.

Pepe's career ended due to injuries

Pepe struggled to keep the form he started at the club as he scored once in the last six appearances for the club. As per the recent developments, the club is not keen on keeping the forward or extending his contract for some more seasons. He has offers from Saudi clubs but the Ivorian footballer would feel to play in Europe and has been linked moving to Italy. He could have been a promising star but injuries hampered his progress.

Trabzonspor are expected to finish third in the Turkish Super League. They face Karagumruk in the Turkish Cup semi-finals on Wednesday evening, followed by three league games against Istanbulspor, Istanbul Basaksehir, and Ankaragucu. The club would look to finish on a high note.
