New Update
3rd Transfer window

FIFA has not allowed anything to stand in the path of their Club World Cup, which will be held the very first time next year with 32 teams in a new format. In between seasons, the month-long competition will take place from June 14 to July 14.

FIFA held a proper on Thursday night to determine the groupings, with the 12 participating European teams promised large rewards. There will be 16 teams in the knockout stages and eight groups of four, same like in the FIFA World Cup. Marca claims that a fresh transfer window will be opened by FIFA.

In order to encourage clubs to bolster their squads for the tournament and to provide them with legal protection, the governing body of football will let teams make deals between June 1st and June 10th. Since clubs will be able to unilaterally extend their players' contracts until the tournament's conclusion as a result of the tournament, an additional transfer window could allow players to relocate prior to the competition. Throughout the Club World Cup, players will not be permitted to compete for two different teams.

How would the new transfer window work out for the players?

The new regulation would let players make appearances for multiple teams across the same season, even though most contracts in Europe expire on June 30 and the summer transfer market starts on July 1. Due to allegations that it pushes elite players too far, the competition has drawn a lot of criticism. This season, Real Madrid alone may play as many as 71 games, and it goes without saying that foreign players will play far more.

Gianni Infantino said earlier, “The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will kick off a new era for club football across the world, with the top teams competing to be crowned the official FIFA club world champions. These regulations will ensure that the best possible conditions are in place in order for all 32 participating clubs and the best players in the world to shine at the highest level.”
