FC Barcelona is reportedly unhappy with Nico Williams delaying the process of confirming his signing. There was optimism in the club to get the contract of the star player from the Athletic club which seems to be fading away due to the delay from the youngster. The latest report claims that the club is aware of Nico's difficulty in deciding on his signing.

FC Barcelona has reportedly conveyed to Williams that they can't wait any longer for him to confirm the signing. As the youngster has delayed his process of confirming the signing, the Spanish club is helpless but to look for backups. One of them seems to be Dani Olmo. It looks like every term with the player has been ticked off except for a confirmation from RB Leipzig.

Some of the latest reports recently claimed that Nico could potentially extend his contract with the Athletic Club. Given his performances for the club and the nation, Williams could be extended a contract with a hike in salary. The reports have claimed that the club would remain silent on Nico who is expected to be in the pre-season training on the 12th of August 2024.

A win-win situation for Dani Olmo and Nico Williams

The reports have further claimed that Olmo could remain at the Athletic Club rather than make a move to Barcelona. However, the Spanish club hasn't totally given up on grabbing Dani. The focus of the player would be to ensure a smooth transition without tarnishing the image of his current club. Additionally, Dani Olmo might get a revised contract from the Athletic Club.

It will be interesting to see how the trade dynamics between the clubs transpire. Athletic Club seems to be unwilling to let go of two of their talented players. With not a lot of time left, FCB will be looking to do everything in their might to get players in whom they can invest for a long time. Ultimately, the players are likely to have a win-win situation.
