'Late drama in El-Clasico!' Fans react as Real Madrid beat FC Barcelona 3-2 in La Liga

Real Madrid hosted FC Barcelona in the 257th El Clasico on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu. The home side have been in sensational form in the ongoing season as they defeat reigning UEFA Champions League champions Manchester City in the quarter-finals in penalties and are currently eight points ahead over their arch-rivals Barca. Xavi’s side after getting knocked out after their 1-4 loss against Paris Saint-Germain, they had a chance to fight back and close down the points margin.

Soon after the home side pressed and that worked as Pau Cubarsi extended leg hit Lucas Vazquez who went down earning a penalty for the side, and Vinicius Junior making no mistake from the spot. 

There has been a lot of controversy with the decision when Raphinha’s corner was flicked by Lamine Yamal might have travelled inside the goal and after the check of the VAR it was not given and the referee also did not have any indications in the watch for the goal as there is no goal line technology in the Spanish League. Frenkie de Jong has to be taken off due to a 50-50 challenge with Federico Valverde. 

Bellingham wins it for Madrid

The second half began in an opposite way as Barca were the ones who pressed higher up the pitch and Madrid sitting back and waiting for the counter attack, but Barca made it 2-1 when Fermin Lopez scored and the home side hit back two minutes after Lucas Vazquez meeting the cross of Vinicius Jr.  

Barca were trying their best to get on to the lead but, a counter from the home side where Brahim Diaz made the run all through the midfield which was passed to Vazquez who passed to Jude Bellingham, who was quite for the whole game scored the winner in the 91st minute after he made an unmarked run in the box.
