Dimitar Berbatov criticizes

Manchester United needed to beat Aston Villa in order to relieve some of the pressure on manager Ten Hag, who is now under fire. But what happened next was another lackluster display at Villa Park, with United losing for the sixth time in a row across all competitions.

Even if United's defense was not as porous as it has been in the previous two games against Unai Emery's team, they still had 36-year-old Jonny Evans to be grateful to for containing the hosts. The legendary player for United, Berbatov, believes that Evans' strong performance embarrassed his teammates and has threatened to expose Ten Hag if his subpar play continues.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker said, "Everybody on the pitch should be ashamed because Evans is man of the match at 36. The criticism will continue to grow because United need to win to get the points. They are 14th in the table which is unbelievable. The only thing to correct it is to get the points but with the way they're playing at the moment that's going to be hard to do."

Thomas Tuchel set to replace Erik ten Hag as manager?

Thomas Tuchel is being considered by Manchester United as a possible Erik ten Hag replacement. Since Tuchel is still unemployed following his departure from Bayern Munich towards the end of the previous campaign, United expressed interest in him throughout the course of summer as they considered replacing Ten Hag.

United respects other contenders who have already committed to clubs, and Tuchel appeals to them since he is readily available. On Tuesday, United hierarchy officials will meet in London, and Ten Hag anticipates speaking with the club over the next few days.

Ten Hag's status is in doubt because Manchester United, currently ranked 14th in the English Premier League standings, has only won three of its 11 games this season. In seven league games, they have registered five goals; only Southampton, in 19th position, have scored fewer. United is now seven points out of fourth place in the Champions League qualifying round. Since rejoining the competition in 1993, they have never missed two seasons of qualifying.
