This week, the UEFA Champions League and Europa League second round matches took centre stage in European headlines. Crucial victories in their individual games were also achieved by the teams in the top 5 leagues. Without further ado, let's look at the top 10 teams in European football that put on incredible displays to win week six.

Here are the European Club Football Power Rankings - Top 10 clubs from Week 6

10) Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt week

Eintracht Frankfurt had a glorious week six as they faced tough opposition but managed to scrape through. Earlier on thursday, the Bundesliga side faced Besiktas away from home but made light work of them as they earned a 3-1 win. This marked their first win of this year’s UEFA Europa League campaign as well.

Then yesterday, they welcomed Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich to the Deutsche Bank Arena. It was an entertaining contest which was decided by a last-minute equaliser from in-form striker Omar Marmaoush. They would have hoped for a win after taking the lead in the second half but might be content with a point against top quality opposition.

9) Arsenal

Arsenal week

There were a lot of concerns surrounding Arsenal and whether they would be able to cope with back-to-back games with a squad that has been stung by injuries. Mikel Arteta and his side showed terrific resilience and grit throughout the week. They welcomed Paris Saint-Germain to the Emirates stadium and got a stunning 2-0 win to earn their first victory of this season’s UEFA Champions League.

Over in the English Premier League, they welcomed Southampton and even though on paper, it looked like an easy task, it didn’t seem like it. Cameron Archer gave Southampton an unlikely lead but a magnificent performance from Bukayo Saka ensured a 3-1 win from Arsenal. The Gunners starboy got a crucial goal as well as two assists to cap off his stunning display.

8) Inter Milan

Inter Week

Once again, just like old times, Serie A is being dominated by Inter Milan and this week they just continued their good run of form. They grabbed their first win of this year’s UEFA Champions League as they cruised past FK Crvena Zvezda at the San Siro. It was an important victory for them as they look to qualify directly into the Round of 16.

During their Serie A match against Torino, Inter Milan had the upper hand, but Maripan's dismissal made their task much simpler. The game essentially became one-way traffic after the red card. Maripan received red before Inter scored three goals and Torino scored two.

7) Atalanta

Atalanta Week

Inter and Atalanta have had comparable starts in the current Champions League season. Then, during their second Champions League game, Atalanta defeated Shakhtar Donetsk with a strong showing. Their first victory of the competition came with a 3-0 victory.

On Saturday, Mateo Retegui netted a hat trick and guided Atalanta to a crucial victory in Serie A. Retegui not only helped Atalanta defeat his old team, Genoa, 5-1, but it also significantly improved their goal differential. Together, Ederson and Marten de Roon scored as they finished off a historic victory over the Italian squad.

6) Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton Week

On Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur defeated Brighton & Hove Albion in the first half, through the in-form Brennan Johnson scoring the first goal after 23 minutes to extend his goal streak to six games. James Maddison's low effort from the very edge of the penalty area somehow slipped past Seagulls goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen to extend Spurs' lead going into halftime.

Yankuba Minteh scored his team's first goal during the second half to cut Brighton's lead to one. It was the impetus for an unusual comeback as Georginio Rutter levelled with a demonstration of strength and precision finishing. Later he enabled Danny Welbeck to tip the hosts in lead on 66 minutes and the hosts held onto the lead to secure a famous win.

5) Feyenoord

Feyernoord week

Girona missed a penalty kick and gave up two own goals, but Feyernoord still managed to win 3-2 on the road in the UEFA Champions League. They would hope to capitalise on this outstanding performance in the upcoming round of games. This also represented their first victory of the campaign.

At Feyenoord Stadium in Holland, Ayase Ueda gave Feyernoord the lead in the 28th minute. Hwang doubled the lead in the 43rd minute with an effort from outside of the penalty area. Sem Steijn gave Twente a late lead during the 79th minute, however Feyernoord held on to win 2-1 as Twente was unable to find an equaliser.

4) Brest

Brest Week

Brest's first-ever European campaign got off to a flawless start on Tuesday when they defeated RB Salzburg 4-0 in the UEFA Champions League thanks to two goals from Abdallah Sima. They would like to continue their excellent record as they occupy the second spot in the league rankings.

Despite having a difficult start to the season, Ligue 1 has managed to secure a significant win. Both teams played with ten men during the second half of the game, which allowed them to defeat Le Havre 2-0 at home.

3) Fiorentina

Fiorentina week

As the new UEFA Conference League's league stage began, Fiorentina triumphed over The New Saints in a comfortable win. The Italian giants got off to an excellent start when Moise Kean, a substitute, blasted in the second goal after Yacine Adli snuck in from the very edge of the area to open the scoring.

Fiorentina defeated AC Milan 2-1 inside the Stadio Franchi on a wild night that featured three penalty kicks—none of which were converted—and much jubilation in Florence. David de Gea, the Fiorentina goalkeeper, made two saves: one from Tammy Abraham during the second half and one from Theo Hernandez during the first.

2) Lille

Lille Week

At the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium, holders Real Madrid lost to Lille, their first UEFA Champions League loss since May 2023. After a visual assistance referee (VAR) review determined that Real Madrid's French player Eduardo Camavinga had stopped Edon Zhegrova's free kick with his arm, Lille's Jonathan David netted the game's sole strike from the penalty spot.

Lille fell behind 1-0 at the break, but when the weekend's games came to an end, the northern team came back to win and go up to fourth place in the table, just one point below third-place Marseille.

1) FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona week

In the current UEFA Champions League season, FC Barcelona secured their first points in the new League phase format on Tuesday night at the Montjuïc Olympic Stadium with a commanding 5-0 victory over BSC Young Boys. The Blaugrana proved the better team from beginning to end, winning by halfway and cruising to a relatively easy victory at home.

The main attraction for FC Barcelona was Robert Lewandowski, the prolific Polish forward who scored three goals in the first half of an easy 3-0 victory over Alaves on Sunday. This victory leaves Hansi Flick's team three points ahead at the summit of La Liga.
