Arsenal is actively pursuing a striker this summer, considering potential signings such as Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, and Victor Osimhen. On the other hand, Liverpool has an abundance of top-tier attacking options at their disposal.

New manager Arne Slot has access to a wealth of talent including Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez. Despite having numerous quality choices, Liverpool is pushing forward with the acquisition of Juventus forward Federico Chiesa.

As a result, Liverpool could soon find themselves with six established options vying for three positions. At least one of these players will inevitably see a significant decrease in playing time compared to their expectations.

Darwin Nunez's transfer is not impossible but improbable

If one goes by Liverpool's first two games of the season, the Uruguayan Darwin Nunez seems to be the one who is most likely to be left out. Jota was the preferred striker in the first two matches, and the Portuguese was substituted by Dutch Cody Gakpo in both matches.

Nunez and his struggles with the offside rules resurfaced in the last outing against Brentford. It's important to note that a prior report published in Liverpool Echo clearly stated, ‘Liverpool have no intention of selling Darwin Nunez.’ Moreover, the report was published at a time when Darwin Nunez was in connection with Jose Mourinho's Fenerbache.

According to a recent report by Athletic - Liverpool plans to add to their forward and has no intentions to leave any of the forwards out.

Their report from Monday declared: ' A move for Chiesa, or another forward in his position, is unlikely to change the situation around any of the current forward players with Liverpool looking to build on the squad they already have rather than weaken it.’

Darwin's Transfer "A Tale of Fiction '

Now, according to the Spanish transfer outlet Fuchajes, Arsenal are in pursuit to sign the Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez by the end of the Summer transfer window. Arsenal's Gaffar Mikel Arteta is supposedly trying to capitalise on the uncertainty around Nunez's position in Liverpool, as per the reports. The report also claimed that Liverpool is willing to sell Nunez if a bid of around £73 million is put to the table.

Fichajes is renowned for making speculations regarding possible transfers, with very little to no evidence to back them up. To add to it, none of the major English Transfer reports have a possible transfer of Nunez to Arsenal. Hence such speculations should be taken with a grain of salt, as they may never stand the test of time.
