Barcelona almost faced another setback as midfielder Dani Olmo was forced off during their La Liga match against Girona on Sunday (September 15) due to an injury. The Spanish midfielder was substituted in the second half shortly after scoring a goal to give his team a three-goal lead.

Olmo made his debut for the Spanish giants after joining from RB Leipzig in the summer, and he marked his first two appearances for La Blaugrana with goals, demonstrating his value to the club after their €60 million investment.

Olmo scored in his third consecutive game before getting injured

Olmo registered his third goal in as many games for the club before leaving the pitch. The former Leipzig man scored with an incredible effort, lashing in from a very tight angle to put his Barcelona side three goals up just two minutes into the second half.

Good news for Barcelona fans

The good news is that the latest reports indicate that the Spanish midfielder did not sustain any major injury during the Catalan derby and is doing well. According to some media sources, he is expected to return for the club's next fixture following further tests.

Olmo struggled with injuries prior to the Catalan derby

Dani Olmo only played in one of Spain's UEFA Nations League games, a 0-0 draw against Serbia. Unfortunately, he sustained a heavy hit from a defender in that game, which prevented him from participating in the second game against Switzerland. Additionally, he seemed to struggle with the same issue during a game at the Montilivi and was substituted after 61 minutes.

In the Catalan derby, Lamine Yamal was the star of the show for Hansi Flick's side, scoring two goals in the first half to take his tally to three in five appearances this season. With four assists also to his name, the 17-year-old Ballon d'Or nominee is en route to having another breathtaking season for the club
