Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly finalized an extension to his contract with Al-Nassr, solidifying his status as the highest-paid player in football history. The renowned five-time Ballon d’Or winner continued to add chapters to his legacy with his move to the Middle East in 2023. His current terms in the Saudi Pro League are said to be valued at an astonishing £173 million per season.

Ronaldo's current contract is set to expire this summer, but reports from Al Khabar and O Jogo indicate that he has decided to extend his partnership with Al-Nassr. There had been rumours linking him to various clubs globally, including Al-Hilal, where Brazilian football superstar Neymar currently plays.

The former Real Madrid star is set to extend his contract, which is expiring at the end of the season, to ensure his continued presence at Al-Nassr. The new deal will guarantee him a staggering £3.19m per week.

Ronaldo has amassed 81 goals in just 90 appearances for Al-Nassr, which highlights his consistency at the age of 39. He has established himself as a goal-scoring machine, having already surpassed the 100-goal mark at his previous clubs, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

Ronaldo speaks about the quality of Saudi Pro League

Besides his footballing duties, Ronaldo also featured in videos promoting the country's National Day, has actively participated in sponsored trips to various emerging tourist hotspots in Saudi Arabia and was seen attending several high-profile boxing matches in Riyadh.

"Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course,' Ronaldo said. 'All France only has PSG. The rest are finished. Try to sprint in 38, 39, 40 degree weather and see..." Cristiano said.

"It is difficult to become champion in Saudi. This year Al-Hilal are better, Al-Ittihad are top of the league, but I believe that we have to push hard to be champions. I've been champion everywhere I have (played) and I believe I will be champion, but I've won this trophy for scoring so many goals and assists and maintaining my level." he added.
