Alexander Isak, the standout for Newcastle United, is rumored to have been contacted by Chelsea this summer regarding his availability. The Daily Mail claims that the Blues and the Magpies have had preliminary discussions on the prospect of moving their star forward, Isak.

The west London team is apparently willing to surpass their previous transfer record, which they set last summer when they paid £115 million (€136 million/$146 million) to recruit the Swede in order to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

Isak has become one of English football's most prolific goal scorers since joining the English Premier League. The Sweden international displayed his class last season by scoring 25 goals throughout all competitions, notably 21 in the Premier League, following an injury-plagued debut year at St. James' Park.

In an attempt to strengthen their roster before the 2024–25 campaign, Chelsea has their sights set on a number of talented attackers throughout Europe. They reportedly started negotiations to sign Marc Guiu and Nico Williams with Athletic Club and Barcelona, respectively, after losing out on Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Next month, the English powerhouses will come together under new head coach Enzo Maresca before departing for preseason play in the United States. They have friendly matches arranged with Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Wrexham. After interest in Isak and playmaker Bruno Guimaraes increased this summer, Eddie Howe said that he intended to hang onto both players. The team has, nevertheless, already said that each player has a big price tag attached to them.

Chelsea on the verge of signing FC Barcelona wonderkid

Marc Guiu, who recently concluded his season with FC Barcelona, will be hired by Chelsea for a fee of six million euros. The attacker, who netted on his FC Barcelona first-team debut, apparently felt Chelsea would make a better fit for him because of pay issues.

Barcelona was prepared to extend an offer to him that was comparable to what Héctor Fort and Marc Casadó had signed, but Chelsea allegedly wanted to nearly triple the sum. Playing time was another factor. In Vitor Roque, Barcelona made a significant investment to secure their future center striker. Guiu was persuaded by Chelsea that he would have a greater opportunity to earn more first team matches than he does at the moment.
