It's undeniable that Casemiro had yet another awful afternoon while donning a Manchester United jersey yesterday, but it appears his wife isn't quite ready to swallow that story. Even though the experienced Brazilian midfielder endured an incredible career, one that many of the best players could only dream of. But he now appears to be a shell of the player he once was, and it's remarkable that he's still starting games for a team the calibre of Manchester United in the Premier League.

Casemiro might have once dominated matches for Real Madrid, leading them to numerous big championships in the process, but he appeared off-pace yesterday, costing United at critical junctures as Liverpool won 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Although he wasn't the only Red Devils player to suffer yesterday, he received a lot of attention on social media following the game, which prompted his wife to share the following photo there. This sends a very clear message: before you doubt Casemiro, consider what he has accomplished. Once more, that's an incredible haul that would certainly make anyone jealous, but that's not what everyone is complaining about right now, is it?

Although Casemiro had a respectable debut season at Manchester United, it is difficult to understand why Erik ten Hag continues to start the 32-year-old as the starting midfielder given that his play has obviously declined from his prime.

Was it the right decision to post that Instagram story?

Naturally, Casemiro's wife has every right to defend her husband, however this comes across as petty and tone deaf. It's certainly not sufficient to accept that, while he has had an incredibly remarkable career, it is now nearing its end, at least at the highest level.

Casemiro has more than enough time to forget this shambolic performance since the next time Manchester United are in action is 12 days later. He has not been called up by Dorival Junior to the Brazil squad and it also looks like his days in International football have surely come to an end recently.
