Noted Canadian rapper Drake is set to make a huge investment in Italian club Venezia. The singer helped with more than 31 Million Euros to help the club as they were very close to going bankrupt. The move comes as a timely boost for the club that is struggling to stay afloat as far as the finances are concerned.
Matte Babel who happens to be the Chief Brand Officer for the club is also close to Drake. While speaking to the local Italian media, Matter Babel said, “He laid out the problem, simply -- Venezia needs to raise ten million euros in a couple weeks, and then at least thirty million euros in a few months, or the club will go bankrupt.”
"Venice is an incredible city and Venezia has always been a special club, I spoke to Drake and Brad Katsuyama and I discussed how we could help,” added Matte Babel while addressing the Italian media.

During his chat with the media, Matte Babel also said, “The value of Drake to any football club is undeniable given his global superstardom and brand reach. This intersection of culture and sport is exactly where we want to be and as a sports organization the ability to tap a brand like NOCTA that also teeters the same line is incredibly valuable."
Venezia came into existence in 1907 and their only huge achievement so far winning the Coppa Italia. Their ground Pier Luigi Penzo holds a measly crowd of 11,150 fans and they are one of the smallest stadiums in Italy.
The club has been through lots of struggles and even played in Serie D which is the 4th tier of the Italian Football League. This year they will again be seen playing in Serie B and hope to gain promotion to the top flight.
With Drake pooling in with the needed resources the club can aim to do well on the field. If they can keep themselves in the race and qualify for the Serie A they can even aim to better their financial plight in the coming season.
