Šeško was sought after by both the Red Devils and Newcastle United for the unique he brings to the table. He did not take part in the friendly match against Atalanta FC, which Leipzig lost. On the 5th of August, he trained separately from his teammates in a complex, having informed them of his decision to make a move.

Šeško has great numbers for RB Leipzig, as he has scored 39 goals in 87 matches. There was a concern that United's loan amounts could potentially hamper some of their deals. For the sell-on clauses for Maxi Oyedele, Alvaro Carreras, and Anthony Elanga, United got a transfer fee of 15 Million Euros, which helped their cause.
