Although it's doubtful that Barcelona will make any big signings during the January transfer window, the Catalan powerhouses are already making plans for the summer. Barcelona has reportedly made Leroy Sane and Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich their top targets for the summer transfer window in 2025.
Beginning on July 1, Leroy Sane and Kimmich, who are nearing the end of their contracts, will be available on free transfers. Given their skill and background, Barcelona's interest in the two is not surprising. A transfer to Catalonia has long been suggested for Kimmich. Hansi Flick, the former manager of Bayern Munich, may play a key role in bringing Sane and Kimmich to Barcelona. Flick may be able to convince the pair to move to La Liga because he knows them well.
The fact that Barcelona and other teams can now offer pre-contracts may present the players with an alluring alternative, even though Bayern Munich may still try to reach fresh agreements with Sane and Kimmich. Sane and Kimmich's signings would be a huge coup for Barcelona and would greatly increase their chances of winning the 2025–2026 campaign. For the majority of the past two years, Joshua Kimmich, a German international, has been linked to a move to Spain when it became apparent that a contract extension at Bayern Munich would not be an easy task. Kimmich may now leave the club for free, as his contract has less than six months left on it.
Real Madrid interested in Joshua Kimmich
Many reports claim that in an attempt to assist Bayern with their summer preparations, Kimmich was requested to provide clarification on his plans by January 5th. Kimmich says that conversations and negotiations are still going on, but they haven't responded to that, just like they haven't with their renewal proposals. Real Madrid and Barcelona, two of Spain's biggest teams, are allegedly interested in Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane. Although Sane's three years at Bayern were somewhat lacklustre, he has recently been playing at his best.
Although Kimmich has been touted as a target on occasion, Real Madrid has never been connected to a deal for him. It appears that the Blaugrana are not currently prioritising a starting central midfielder, which lessens the likelihood that they will use their limited resources to pursue Kimmich.
