Dani Olmo has completed his move to FC Barcelona over the weekend. The Spanish star is back to his boyhood club after having spent a few seasons at RB Leipzig. The Catalan side paid 60 million dollars for the Spanish star after his heroics during the EURO 2024.

According to new reports doing the rounds, the presentation and registration of Dani Olmo has hit a snag. The reason behind this is due to FC Barcelona having a lot of issues as far as their finances are concerned. This is the main reason why Dani Olmo is yet to be registered as an official Barcelona player.

FC Barcelona is set to take on Valencia in the season-opening game on Saturday. According to a report carried by Cadena SER, the Catalans have to balance the books as they have a lot of payments left to be made.

FC Barcelona’s financial struggles highlighted

The last few years have seen FC Barcelona struggle with their finances having shelled out massive sums for new players. The likes of Phillipe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann didn’t work out well for the Catalan side.

There is a running belief that the Catalans need to do more in the summer transfer window to compete with Real Madrid. The Los Blancos are the defending LA Liga and UEFA Champions League champions.

With the arrival of French striker Kylian Mbappe and young Brazilian sensation Endrick, the Madrid side has been stronger. FC Barcelona wanted to buy Nico Williams during the last few weeks but couldn’t come to terms with a fee with Athletic Bilbao.

The Spanish star was given the new Number 10 shirt at his current club Athletic Bilbao. This is a very huge statement that the winger will start the new season at his current club further dealing a blow to FC Barcelona.

Nico Williams was earlier wearing the number 11 jersey before being given the iconic number 10 jersey due to Iker Munian leaving the Basque-based side. Nico Williams put out a statement where he said, “Very happy to wear Muniain’s number 10 and to make history as he has done.”
