Barçelona's star striker drops a bombshell as she annouces her divorce on Instagram

Dayana Lins, the wife of Vitor Roque, has decided to go separate ways after a year of marriage. The couple tied the knot in December 2023, shortly before Vitor's move to Barcelona from Athletico Paranaense.

However, Dayana has expressed that since their relocation from Brazil to Spain, Vitor's behaviour has shifted drastically, leading her to seek a divorce.

Dayana's explanation for the divorce 

She recently shared on her Instagram that she is contemplating a separation. The couple has initiated discussions regarding their future, which is certainly a challenging situation. She expressed that during their trip to Europe, she noticed changes in Vitor's demeanour, which she attributes to the pressures of football. She felt that she was meant to be his source of support during this time, but unfortunately, he directed his stress towards her in ways that were unexpected and difficult to handle.

She explained that when someone decides to get married, they often genuinely believe they have chosen the right partner. Embracing this faith, she took a major step in her life by leaving her parents' home, her university studies, and her job to embark on a new journey in another country.

"I intend to separate; we have already started negotiations; unfortunately, the marriage did not work out... When we arrived in Europe, his attitude began to change... I think it was because of the pressure of football and that I was supposed to be his safe haven, but he took out his stress with very harsh words and attitudes that I am not prepared to talk about. I want to see if I can share some things here. As most of you know, I got married last year. I'm still married. I'm still married, and like all girls (at least I think so), there's this idea that after you get married, you have company, empathy, love, children, and you build a family," Dayana explained in a video on her Instagram.

On the football front, Vitor Roque has been working hard to establish himself at Barcelona since his transfer from Athletico Paranaense in January 2023. He took a season-long loan to Real Betis last summer, where he enjoyed more playing time and contributed by scoring more goals than at Barca. With talented players like Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha in Barcelona's attacking lineup, Roque may well have to punch above his weight to establish himself at Barcelona.
