According to reports, Atletico Madrid is actively seeking a successor for Alvaro Morata, who has left the club. Currently, at Manchester City, Julian Alvarez may be nearing the end of his time there. In last season Julian Alvarez has made 52 appearances for the club across all tournaments.

After finishing second in Serie A last season, AC Milan plans to pay the €13 million release clause in Morata's Atletico Madrid contract to strengthen their offensive options and commence coach Paulo Fonseca's tenure at the club. Alvaro Morato, who is reportedly about to sign a four-year contract with AC Milan, previously found success in Italy with Juventus, winning the Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana.

Julian Alvarez's situation at Manchester City has not been ideal for a player of his ability. Despite his impressive World Cup performances for Argentina, Alvarez received little playing time due to Erling Haaland's dominance in the forward line. According to reports, Alvarez played only 17 minutes in the final four games of the Premier League season, fuelling his desire for a more key position in a Champions League-competing squad.

Atletico Madrid's track record with comparable high-stakes signings is noteworthy. The club has historically negotiated complicated talks effectively, as evidenced by Antoine Griezmann and other key players. Their strategy of bringing in potential individuals with flexible financial conditions has frequently enabled them to compete at the top levels without jeopardising their economic foundation.

LAFC to sign Olivier Giroud

Securing Julian Alvarez would be more than just a substitute for Morata; it would represent a strategic boost to Atlético's offensive options. His possible arrival would not only bring new quality to the squad but would also improve the team's tactical flexibility and depth, both of which are critical components for long-term success in domestic and European tournaments.

With Olivier Giroud choosing to join MLS club LAFC when his contract expired, AC Milan was looking for a replacement striker as a priority acquisition. After losing out on Joshua Zirkzee to Manchester United, Milan's chief sporting advisor, the renowned Zlatan Ibrahimovic, saw Morata as the perfect boost for their offensive squad.
