Atalanta BC won the UEFA Europa League after beating Bayer Leverkusen in the final 3-0. Against all the odds, Gian Piero Gasperini's side outclassed the Bundesliga champions in the ultimate game and broke their 51 games unbeaten record in the season. The Italian side, however, qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage for the upcoming season. In the domestic circuit, they had a decent season. They, under Gasperini, defeated Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the Europa League. 

Some of the club's footballers are on loan from other clubs, with one of them being Charles de Ketelaere, the Belgium international who has been on loan from AC Milan. The 23-year-old footballer was amazing on the night of the final dancing through the defenders with ease in the counterattacks of the side. He was a constant threat down the middle and in the wings with his pace and dribbling ability. 

Ketelaere has had the best of season within his loan spell, appearing in 48 games for the side scoring 14 goals and having nine assists, which has been impressive for the midfielder like him. He will be a player to watch out for in the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany for the side. After his sensational performance, Atalanta is keen on keeping the footballer permanently. 

Percassi wants to keep Charles de Ketelaere

The president of the club Percassi few weeks back showed the intention of keeping the footballer from Milan. As Fabrizio Romano reports in a tweet, the president said, "We like Charles de Ketelaere, we’re very happy with him and we will continue together. Few months back the footballer himself confirmed that he does not want to return to San Siro. 

He said, "I am happy at Atalanta; I’ve found the right environment for me and my playing style, which only Atalanta could give me. We play good football and all the players know what to do. Gasperini is tough but also fair." However, the official decision is yet to be made by the two clubs.
