Real Madrid and Bayern Munich lose

At an exuberant Villa Park, Jhon Duran scored the game's winning goal in the 79th minute to send Bayern Munich reeling. The Colombian striker continued his remarkable record this year of scoring from the sidelines as Bayern Munich sent its players packing. All but one of Duran's six goals this season have come from replacement plays as Aston Villa prevailed.

The striker, who replaced Ollie Watkins, sprinted onto a lengthy through ball from Pau Torres and hoisted the ball from thirty yards out over the head of Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer towards an empty net. Both teams were canceling one another out for lengthy stretches and it was a flash of magic provided by No.9 that had Villa supporters jumping for ecstasy.

In the UEFA Champions League, LOSC Lille defeated Real Madrid with an equally impressive victory. Just before halftime, a penalty kick by Jonathan David earned the French team a historic 1-0 victory at home against the current European champions. It's Lille's first win in the UEFA Champions League this season and Real Madrid's first loss in 37 games over all competitions since January.

“This is the loudest Villa Park that I've heard” : Emiliano Martinez

Emiliano Martinez spoke on Aston Villa's first home game of the UEFA Champions League. He said, "It's unreal to be fair. since I joined the club, that's for sure, it was hurting my ears at some point. It's a club that is moving forward. It's the main reason why I stay in this football club. I love playing here, I love the fans, this is a win for them."

The former Arsenal goalkeeper also spoke about the ever-reliant Jhon Duran. He said, "He came back with a different mentality this season. He's willing to work hard, he's pushing Ollie all the way, they can play together, he's a super sub, the first time he touched the ball, he lobbed Neuer, one of the best goals in history."
