Arsenal refuses to let go mid-fielder amid Galatasaray's interest ahead of Turkish Transfer deadline

Football: Premier League Side Arsenal is adamant to not let go of their defensive midfielder Jorginho after Turkish Club Giants expressed their interest in signing the player.

Premier League side Arsenal has made it clear that they will not consider any offers for Jorginho. According to reports, Turkish Club Giants Galatasaray is showing interest in the midfielder as the Turkish transfer window is set to close on Friday, 13 September.

While the English transfer window will be closed on August 30, some leagues outside of England are still in the process of finalizing important signings before their respective deadlines. Galatasaray had been considering other midfield options, such as Casemiro and Scott McTomin, during the summer, but it appears that their focus has now turned to Jorginho. Nevertheless, it has been stated that Arsenal is not willing to part ways with the 32-year-old.

Jorginho: An important player for Arsenal

Jorginho played a pivotal role in Mikel Arteta's ongoing project at the club and is expected to maintain his significant influence as the season progresses.

Additionally, he recently agreed to a short-term contract extension with Arsenal in May 2024, after joining the club in 2023. Although there were initial doubts among fans regarding his arrival in North London, as he has become an integral figure for the team. Having made 52 appearances across all competitions, he has garnered widespread support from Arsenal fans.

Coach Mikel Arteta's Take on Jorginho

Arsenal's manager, Arteta, expressed his delight at Jorginho signing a new contract with the club. Arteta emphasized Jorginho's importance as a pivotal player and praised his leadership skills and ball-playing abilities, which elevate the performance of his teammates.

"We’re delighted that Jorgi has signed a new contract with us," Arteta explained. "Jorgi is such an important part of our team, a role model with great leadership skills and a unique playing style ability which makes everybody better around him on the pitch," he added.

Jorginho backs his Coach's decision

In response, Jorginho described his decision to stay at Arsenal as "an easy one." He feels at home at the club, appreciates the support of his teammates, and is motivated to achieve more with the team, leading him to extend his stay. Jorginho expressed gratitude for the affection he received and is committed to being a valuable asset to the team. He also expressed his desire to support his teammates and emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the club.

Jorginho said, "This is because I feel really good here. Just to know that they appreciate me and want me to stay longer as well, it’s a big thing for me. I feel that I have more to do, so that’s the reason why I’m staying. I try to give everything I can of myself to everyone around me. Sometimes that can be a cuddle, sometimes it can be words, sometimes show them something," he added.
