Arsenal enters their final game of their campaign at home against Everton recognising that only a victory can keep them in a chance to beat Manchester City to win the title. Pep Guardiola's team, meanwhile, would become champions for the fourth time if they defeat West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

City has won the trophy on the last day for the third time in a row, giving its opponents a ray of hope on each occasion. Arteta hopes for a similar outcome this time around as David Moyes tries to leave West Ham on a high note. Despite winning five matches in a row leading up the upcoming match, Mikel Arteta's team is still two points behind City after their 2-0 success against Tottenham on Tuesday. If City draws with the Hammers, Arsenal will have an advantage due to a higher goal differential.

Arsenal were beaten by City last season after falling apart in the closing weeks after dominating for the majority of the campaign. This year, they've launched a far improved fight and have already earned more points compared to what they did a year ago.

Mikel Arteta’s thought process prior to the final day of the season

Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta spoke to the reporters prior to the game as he said, "It’s one of the biggest weeks for sure for many of us. Certainly now is the most important moment. Can’t wait for Sunday to be in front of us. Very optimistic for the possible outcome."

The former Manchester City assistant manager added, "We wanted to be in this position. We have earned the right to live a beautiful day in front of our people on Sunday with the hope and big opportunity that we can lift the trophy at the end of the match. We have the possibility to live a beautiful day on Sunday where the dream is still alive and it's still possible. It's football; we have to live the moment."
