While declining to address Raheem Sterling directly, Mikel Arteta has stated that "anything is possible" as Arsenal pursues a last-minute deadline day move for the Chelsea star. He said, "Let's see, it's always possible. In the last 24 hours of the transfer window, never rule out anything. I cannot talk about a player of another team."

According to reports, Mikel Arteta has made an offer for Sterling to the Gunners. He wants to bolster his attacking lineup before Friday's deadline. The Gunners' executives have, however, made a strong drive in recent years to steer clear of elderly players on large contracts. The former England star is allowed to leave Chelsea; manager Enzo Maresca has ordered Sterling to do so. At the Blues, Maresca has shunned the 29-year-old and turned him away from first-team practice.

Ever since he was left out of the starting lineup for their first-day loss to Manchester City, he has been connected to an exit. Manchester United was rumoured to be one of his admirers, but negotiations have stalled, making Arsenal the current front-runners.

“Every manager has a different idea” : Enzo Maresca

Given that Maresca has made it apparent he has nothing to offer at Stamford Bridge, Sterling is rumoured to be eager to leave. The Chelsea manager stated earlier this week that the forward must depart in order for him to play this campaign.

Enzo Maresca said, "I prefer to be honest with players. The ones who are not involved are not going to be involved and they won't get any minutes if they stay. I don't know what happens when the window closes if they are still here.”

The former Leicester City manager added, "The ones who will get minutes are the ones I think can help us. Raheem is a fantastic guy who has trained very well. Every manager has a different idea and he is the kind of winger that is not one that I like.”
