Al Nassr, have fired head coach Luis Castro. Following a heartbreaking 4-1 loss against Al Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup championship match, this decision was made. Although the club's management, led by Ibrahim Al Muhidib, has not yet formally announced this choice, they seem to be in agreement that the manager has to go.

Fans of Cristiano Ronaldo are giddy about the news, wondering if the Portuguese icon would soon be working for a new coach who may spark Al-Nassr's campaign again. Castro's exit comes after a string of disappointing performances, as Al-Nassr was unable to establish themselves in any tournament. The pressure increased after their most recent AFC Champions League match against Al-Shorta ended in a 1-1 tie.

The tenure of Luis Castro as leader was marked by difficulties. In 54 games, he averaged a respectable 2.17 points per game, although he did not win any significant prizes. Al Nassr lost the Saudi Super Cup final against Al-Hilal, their bitter rivals, 4-1, after finishing second in the Saudi Pro League the previous season. Castro's strategies don't appear to have clicked with the talented team, frustrating both supporters and club executives. Since taking over for Rudi Garcia in the summer of 2023, the Portuguese manager has guided the Saudi team.

Stefano Pioli leading the race for manager position at Al Nassr

Now that Stefano Pioli has a proven track record and led AC Milan to their first Serie A championship in more than ten years in the 2021–2022 season, all eyes are on him. His tactical knowledge and methodical approach may be just what Ronaldo and the club need to make things right.

After Pioli took over as manager of the Rossoneri in 2019, the team was able to recover and Milan was able to win the Scudetto championship in 2021–2022. During that campaign, he was also named the Serie A Coach of the Season.
