Al-Hilal is becoming increasingly optimistic about adding Manchester United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, to their team before the upcoming Club World Cup. The Saudi Pro League giants are in pursuit of closing the deal sooner rather than later.

The Manchester United skipper has been influential in aiding his side to the finals of the UEFA Europa League. The Red Devils, however, fell short in the finals at San Mames.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the prominent Saudi Pro League club believes they are "close" to persuading Fernandes to join them this summer following several rounds of constructive discussions. The Portuguese midfielder is currently in discussions with his family regarding a potential move to the Middle East, while the club has given the player an ultimatum, requesting a decision by Friday, June 6.

Al-Hilal has not yet submitted a formal bid to Manchester United. Nevertheless, they are confident that Fernandes' current club would not obstruct his request for a transfer. Thus far, the Red Devils have maintained a steadfast position, affirming that their captain will not depart from Old Trafford this summer.

Reports from last week indicate that representatives for Fernandes engaged in formal discussions with officials from Al-Hilal, during which the player was presented with a contract proposal worth £200 million in wages over a three-year period.

Ruben Amorim's team is currently on vacation following a busy season and a post-season tour in Malaysia and Hong Kong. The squad is scheduled to regroup in late July before returning to Asia for the initial phase of their pre-season training.
