Counter-Strike 2’s latest update for The Armory is the biggest update players received in quite some time. Bringing over 100 weapon skins, the update also introduced charms or ‘gunbuddies’ for Valorant players. Players were salty over no new map and still a broken anti-cheat, but everyone’s farming XP (experience).
The XP here is for an operation-style pass, which allows players to gain stars. Unlike Operation, a single pass only gives players 40 stars, which isn’t enough. That’s why players can stack up to five armoury passes and level them together, allowing them to gain 200 on completion.

This method skyrocketed after players found out they could complete the current pass and purchase more. To get the new weapon skins as soon as possible, players started XP farming in Dust 2 casual mode using Molotov and grenades in a single location. It was quite effective as the XP gained was equal regardless of match length.
A day later, Valve dropped a patch to adjust the ‘score calculation in Casual, Competitive, and Wingman to exclude knife and utility damage’ that effectively nullified the XP farm from the traditional method. There was another uproar in the community.
Another day, another XP farm
Despite the XP farming nerf, players were back at it once again, this time with pistols. The location and method remained the same, but the equipment saw some changes as now players were charging on each other not with utility, but with pistols.
Valve patched the nade/molly XP farming lobbies in a new Update last night but...

And just like that, the XP farming was back on track. While the new method is a bit slower, it is still very viable and makes the Nerf obsolete. Spotting the farming lobbies is also quite easy, just see if players rushing towards a single spot in casual with pistols.
