Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) finally received another big update called ‘The Armory’. As the name suggests, it is mostly about customization including new weapon collection, charms, stickers and other things. Though there are some changes to the game, it is mostly bug fixes and a networking update. Fans are yet to get a new map or game mode.

With tldr completed, let’s dive deep into what’s new and what’s not. First, the armoury update is basically a new operation like. Players can acquire credits, which are stars from previous operations, after purchasing the armoury pass by simply playing the game and acquiring XP. One thing to note is that players can stack up to five armoury passes and progress them at the same time.

New cosmetics

Instead of simply a new case, players now have three different collections alongside a new case. Furthermore, there are also two sets of charms and stickers. All of these items can be acquired through the pass credits. Here’s everything new in the update, along with how many credits a player need to get an item.

  • Missing Link Charms (3 Credits)
  • Small Arms Charms (3 Credits)
  • Overpass Collection (4 Credits)
  • Graphic Collection (4 Credits)
  • Sport and Field Collection (4 Credits)
  • The Gallery Case (2 Credits)
  • Elemental and Craft Stickers (1 Credits)

One thing to note is that all the collection features a random roll, meaning players will not get to choose what they want. The armoury pass contains 40 credits, which is likely not enough, hence the ability to stack five pass and progress at the same time.

Much like stickers, the charms can also be placed almost anywhere on the weapon, however, players also have the ability to take them off and put them on the other weapon using a new

Stickers in general also received an update that now allows players to inspect stickers in both regular and scraped form on their weapons. This allows them to pre-determine the craft they are planning on doing or see how it looks in general.

Apart from all these cosmetics, there is also a special one for Desert Eagle, Heat Treated. This is only available for the next 100 days but costs a hefty 25 credits. The weapon will most likely be a red rarity, however, the pricing will come down to the best pattern and rarity.

Networking update

Tucked below is a small networking update, however, it wasn’t what the players expected and many are already expressing their frustration across social media. Here’s what the networking update added.

  • Added telemetry option to display graphs of network jitter and misdelivery.
  • Changed how packet misdelivery is measured. Previously, if packets arrived out of order, this could be counted as misdelivery even if it was corrected and did not impact gameplay. Also, jitter was not considered, even though excessive jitter can disrupt smooth gameplay. The new measurement method will only count reordered packets as misdelivered if they impact gameplay. Furthermore, if network jitter exceeds a threshold where gameplay is affected, the packets are counted as misdelivered even if they are not dropped and arrive in order

Apart from these, there are multiple map fixes that a majority of players might have not noticed. Some graphics, animation, audio and workshops also received small updates and fixes. As for anti-cheat and other issues, there is nothing on the horizon yet.
