XDefiant release date coming very soon

XDefiant recently had a successful server stress test weekend to fine-tune the game before the public release. The game is a free-to-play first-person shooter with similar vibes to Call of Duty games, possibly because the lead developer has a background in CoD games.

The players reported a few issues that could use some tweaking, but overall, it was a decent experience. The Executive Producer of the game, Mark Rubin, in a recent post on X, revealed that these issues will be ironed out before the launch if not already done.

“The Server Test Session went really well from a scale and server standpoint. We have some tuning to do. Pretty straightforward stuff that will be done very soon, if not done already. And lastly, the release date coming very soon!” Rubin said in a post.

He also shared the findings after the Test Session and said that the most prominent issues like Health Bar updating much later despite working as intended, latency issues and matchmaking issues cause players to land on random lobbies. Rubin also thanked the players who participated in the test.

XDefiant likely to release before new CoD

The new CoD game is believed to be released sometime in October, as per the rumours. With Rubin claiming that the release date for XDefiant is coming soon, it is safe to believe that the game is planning to capitalize on the lack of proper CoD game release for some time and get players hooked on XDefiant early on.

Furthermore, the game is also set to be free-to-play, unlike the CoD games which comes as a surprise considering it is from Ubisoft, the same company which is currently under fire for the pricing of the upcoming Star Wars game.

XDefiant was planned to be released last year but faced several complications during development. With how things are moving now, the release will likely come during the summer.
