One of the most infamous cheaters in Counter-Strike, Forsaken, is now unbanned by Valve and can compete in the official CS2 tournaments. This unban comes five long years after he was caught cheating in a CSGO LAN event back in 2018 while playing for Optic India. The incident is widely regarded as the biggest setback for the Indian Counter-Strike community.

Most gamers are likely aware of the whole ordeal, but as a quick summary of what went down for those who are not, Forsaken was looking as one of the most promising Indian Counter-Strike players and was event picked up by Optic Gaming in 2018 as part of their global expansion.

After making a name for themselves, the team qualified for the eXTREMESLAND 2018 Finals. Over the course of their journey, other teams were suspicious about his gameplay, which was later confirmed in the LAN finals.

An admin wo checked his PC, and found suspicious files by the name Word and a console window running in the background. Despite his attempt to delete the evidence, he was caught, and the team was disqualified. His cheats also popularized the term word.exe for other cheaters in the CS community.

As expected, the team was disbanded and the player was handed a five-year ban from competing at the event. Now that the ban duration is up, people are wondering what is he up to. Will the disgraced player make a return, or was the end of his career?
