The most recent match between Fnatic and M80 has now set a record for most rounds ever played in Counter-Strike 2 history. After a total of 71 rounds, M80 finally managed to secure the match, but regardless of the winner, this game will go down in history as one of the most intense games of CS2.
To put this into a better perspective, if a team can 13-0 their opponents in CS2, they would have played over 5 matches. Even if the match was close, let’s say 13-12 scoreline, both teams would still have played a best-of-three situation.
Fnatic had a great chance to close the match early on without even going into a single overtime, but M80 managed to keep themselves alive. In fact, the team had multiple chances to secure the game even during overtime.
What’s even more interesting is that the next match also went into overtime, with fans getting flashbacks of the previous game. Thankfully, M80 managed to close this one early. It was also quite clear that the previous game took a toll on both teams. This victory has also paved the way for M80 into the Playoffs.

Fnatic drops to the middle bracket
With a loss, Fnatic will now have to push through the middle bracket, while M80 will face Imperial Esports in the upper bracket final. Fnatic now has to secure two back-to-back match-ups to qualify or drop to the lower bracket and potentially lose out to play the main event.
On the other hand, MOUZ also faced an upset at the hands of Imperial Esports after the matches went to overtime. The team is now in the middle bracket with Fnatic and can potentially match against them, making the run even more challenging.
