After a loss streak in the opening day of PUBG Esports World Cup Group Stage and another upset on Day 2, things were not looking for Kwangdong Freecs. However, a huge chicken dinner have allowed the team to cover the previous loss in the opening match and keep fighting in order to qualify for Finals.

The team had been struggling to find either kills or placement on Day 1. Not only that, the latest roster have yet to leave a memorable impression as their performance hasn’t been the best during the recent PUBG Global Series. The Esports World cup gives them a great opportunity to shine.

Taking advantage of a conflict between TSM and BetBoom Team, Freecs quickly entered the fight to start a three-way battle in an already crowded scene for an easy chicken dinner. Securing 11 kills, Freecs have now made a huge leap from dead last to second spot on Day 2 leaderboard.

TSM and BetBoom Team also put up a great fight, with sparkingg securing 5 kills alone for his team. This was also the second time BetBoom Team finished in the top three and are looking like a tough competitor from Group C.

NaVi takes home opening match

NaVi missed the crown twice in the opening day, but finally managed to register a chicken dinner in their name. In a decisive battle against Valee Thai Esports (VLTH), the team instantly lost two players, leaving them in a 2v4 clutch situation. Having an advantage, VLTH planned on finishing the game before NaVi gets a chance to reset.

Unfortunately for them, the last two players from NaVi turned out to be a massive challenge, providing a much-needed clutch for the team and landing them on top of the leaderboard, which they somehow managed to keep after the second match.
