Popular game journalist, Jason Schreier, recently told everyone that The 2024 Game Awards will have two announcements that will shock everyone. Building upon that, another person claimed to have heard a rumour that Valve will be announcing the long awaited Half Life 3 with the reveal being done by Gabe Newell himself.

At the moment, it is important to note that the person who heard the rumour is also isn’t ready to believe, but claimed he was told by someone well-connected to the game industry (not a Valve employee). The natural reaction of people was obviously to laugh it off.

Will fans finally get Half Life 3?

Valve have a track record of not revealing things until they are close to release. This is an entity that did not acknowledge their latest game ‘Deadlock’ for months despite everyone playing it. Half Life 3 announcement will likely mean the game is ready and will be available soon, which does sound like Valve’s way of doing things, but an announcement at game awards does not.

People have been waiting for Half Life 3 for over two decades now with no signs from Valve. At this point, the game might as well match GTA 6 in terms of Hype. Sadly, everyone knows Valve cannot count to 3 which is quite apparent with their games Counter Strike 2, Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, and even Half Life 2 only had two episodes.

So what are these two announcements that will make players say “Holy sh*t!, I can't believe this thing is here!” as per Jason Schreier. People have been waiting for Hollow Knight Silksong for a long time, and it is also one of the games people hope to see there. The Game Awards will take place on December 12 and will be live steamed across various platforms. Sadly, gamers in India will have to catch the show early morning at 5:30 on December 13 to know these two announcements.

Speaking of Valve, there is another news floating around that Valve is set to release a gaming console that will compete with Xbox and PlayStation. The company have already made a VR headset, controller, handheld console and even an early iteration of Steam Machine, which was discontinued. A new console is likely the closest fans will get a Valve announcement for.
